When you’re moving on your path of progress, you will have hits as well as misses. There will be things you will do better than you expected, and there will be areas where you floundered.

Highlight the Fact That You Achieved Something
It’s very important for you to clearly identify and acknowledge where you have succeeded. This is what will propel you forward.
When you achieve something, however trivial it may appear to be, make sure to take some time to celebrate. It does not have to be a huge celebration, but you must do something to highlight the fact that you achieved something.
Why Is Celebrating Your Success So Important?
When you celebrate something, you’re creating a memory. You will remember the success better because you took the time to acknowledge it by doing something special for yourself.
You created a memorable moment, which will be positively etched in your mind.
You will associate the moment with your success. In addition, you will also associate the moment with gratitude.
It will serve to remind you of what gifts you’ve been blessed with and what you’re capable of. Like writing with indelible ink, it’s indelibly etched in your mind as one of your accomplishments. This, in turn, reinforces your belief in yourself. Not to be overlooked is that your confidence will grow.
Share your joy with others who will be happy for your success. Allow others to rejoice with you. It is important, however, for you to be selective with whom you share your success.
Not everyone will support you. Not everyone will appreciate your small successes. Rather than making a memorable moment in a good way, their negative attitude can translate your experience into one you’d sooner forget. Take note of those who want to support your progress and your growth.

In working with women over the years, I’ve found that many women struggle with a lack of belief in themselves, and they often believe that any success they achieve will not continue.
If this is something you’ve struggled with, you may enjoy the book, “Own Your Greatness: Overcome Impostor Syndrome, Beat Self-Doubt, and Succeed in Life” by Dr. Richard Orbé-Austin.

Yvonne,
Thank you for the reminder to celebrate successes, even in small ways. I’ve heard this advice and always forget to do it. Hopefully I’ll start remembering!
Thank you for coming over and reading, Suzanne. As women, we especially are quick to congratulate others, but we often forget to acknowledge our successes.
Most of us are works in progress. You’re not alone. I have to remind myself to do this as well.
